Hydrant FAQs

Hydrant Locations

The city provides verification for hydrant locations for residents within the city limits.  When a request for hydrant location for insurance purposes is submitted, the city will respond and provide confirmation of whether a hydrant is within the specified distance of the insured property.  County island residents are not officially covered by these hydrants for the purposes of their insurance. Residents supported by Liberty, EPCOR or AZ West will need to contact those entities for verification of those hydrant locations.

Hydrant Colors

Color-coded hydrants easily identify the water and purpose for those assets. Yellow hydrants are maintained by the city for fire suppression and water maintenance. Purple hydrants are treated water available for limited purposes. Red hydrants are maintained by private commercial property owners.
